LIVE REVIEWS!!!
Goshen:
Fucking heavy!! Fucking dark!! Fucking
brutal!! And all put together with such skill. Goshen is one of the most
chaotic sounding bands in Southern California right now. In a room full of mist
with a spastic vocalist you’ll feel one of the most cathartic releases of your
inner demons at one of their performances. Very highly recommended for anyone
looking for something heavy and chaotic, don’t miss out.
PEST:
With mad influence from the odd and the avant
garde sounds of the late ‘70s comes PEST!! Whacky, quirky and very genuine.
Every set is played with a different band which makes every performance unique.
Ian is the man behind it all, putting together an eclectic array of the strange
but awesome and apparently discovering the wonder of acrobatics while on stage.
High energy and a hell of a lot of creativity, keep an eye for them on upcoming
flyers because they’re going to be coming out in a big way.
King Parrot:
Vicious!! High Energy!! Heavy!! Savage!!
Fucking METAL!! King Parrot don’t give a fuck!! They just want to come out and
rip your face apart with blistering riffs, chest pounding drums and ferociously
unique vocals!! You ever wanted to have someone violently fuck your ear holes?
Well they’re gonna do it and you’re gonna like it!! Every song was on point
with the energy and raw aggression of old school hardcore but with the
heaviness and skill of all things metal. These dudes are tearin’ it up all the
way from Australia so catch them if you can and if you’ve missed them then grab
a copy of their newest album “Ugly Produce” and familiarize yourself for their
next attack!!
DEVIL’S CLAW DISTRO INTERVIEW!!!
STN: What is the Devil's Claw Distro?
DCD: Devil’s Claw Distro is a “distro” which, is short for distribution.
STN: When did you start it?
DCD: We started as a collective in 2009.
STN: Why did you start it?
DCD: We started the Distro as a means of promoting our art, radical politics, and ecology in the American Southwest (largely Southern California. Originally, there were 9 members now there’s just 1, so we’re definitely looking to expand.
STN: What are you planning to do with it?
DCD: We’re in the process of making some new posters, zines, and patches and want to do workshops on screenprinting and community building around Southern California.
STN: What are you currently doing with it?
DCD: Tabling a lot of shows, working on new radical zines, and looking out for cheap recording equipment to help promote the DIY scene and lower costs for bands.
STN: Where'd the name come from?
DCD: The name comes from the Devil’s Claw, a plant found in deserts around the world. It’s hardy and manages to exist in harsh conditions just like the idealists, artists, and activists we’ve met and hope to be.
Pretty much everything we make can be found on our website: www.devilsclawdistro.com
And, if you like music, like our Facebook page since we’re always sharing new/ weird music.

BRAIN FRAGMENT UPDATES!!!
As some of you know Brain Fragment has a new
singer!! Her name’s Ash and maaaan can she wail!! We’re really excited and have
been working hard in the studio to get some new songs done with her. So far so
good but it’s slow going so we’ll be slowly introducing each new song at the
end of our set whenever we play. Hopefully soon we’ll have enough new shit to
put out a new album. Stoked as fuck to be playing Desertaia this year, thanks
to the Redland/Inland Empire Pyrate Punx. Also really happy to be seeing more
and more people coming out to our shows. Don’t forget that you can listen to
our debut album on Spotify, Pandora and the Big Pharma Records bandcamp page
and you can check out the digital version of this mini zine as well as past
(and eventually future) issues on snailtrailnewsletter.blogspot.com Oh and one
more thing, Ogden’s back, his eyes will fall off no more!! So come and get your
picture with him!! Might start featuring those photos here in the Snail Trail
Newsletter!!
